It gives us great pleasure to announce that Mr Colin O’Neill, Solicitor, has joined our firm as a Special Counsel.
Many of you will know Colin (pictured here with the Principal of Mornington Legal, Anthony Snooks) as the former principal of O’Neill Behan and Associates, a boutique law practice in Mornington servicing numerous clients in the areas of commercial litigation and debt recovery.
Colin has a strong background in employment and industrial law with a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Employee Relations as well as having lectured at both Monash University (Master’s Degree) and Victoria University (Law Degree) in this specialist field.
He has regularly appeared on behalf of employees and corporate clients in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court and Federal Magistrates’ Court and the Industrial Division of the State Magistrates’ Court. Colin can also advise and act in criminal matters appearing in all Courts, particularly the Magistrates’ Court.
Colin is returning to law after two years travelling overseas umpiring and playing Veterans Cricket.
Prior to entering the legal profession in 1996, Colin worked for the Victoria Police (unsworn member) and was Head of the Victorian Education Department Security Services Group for nearly 20 years. Their charter was the prevention and detection of school crime. Colin is also a returned serviceman having served with the Australian Army in Vietnam in 1968-69.
