Guide to Residential Property Conveyancing

Buying or Selling a Block of Land, House, Unit or Apartment?

Mornington Legal is able to act for you in this important transaction.  We have excellent systems and conscientious people experienced in all facets of conveyancing.  For added peace of mind we carry full indemnity insurance. Your investment will be protected with Mornington Legal.

Why use a Solicitor as distinct from a conveyancing company?

Conveyancing companies are not Solicitors. While they may have legal training or worked in a legal office, they are not current Australian Legal Practitioners (solicitors) under the Legal Profession Act 2004.  Only solicitors may perform Legal Work. It is illegal for any other person to perform Legal Work, or give Legal Advice.

Thus if there is a matter requiring Legal Advice or other Legal Work with your conveyance, you will have to be referred to a solicitor, often at significant extra cost. Conveyancers may only carry out the administrative work – not any Legal Work connected with a conveyance.
